Bundy Clarinet?

When I working my way through college by being an instrument repairman,
a Bundy bass clar came through the shop that was easiest playing in all
registers, had perfect intonation and a beautiful tone and gave you
dynamic possiblities at both ends of the spectrum. As good as any pro
model I ever came across.

There can be gems in the woodpile.

I found a 2nd bs cl almost as good, bought it, and was given a
promotional plastic reed,(cloudy plastic with no brand name or other
marks), clipped the reed just a smidgen, did a little sanding and have
been happy ever since. The reed is now over 15 years old, never needs
soaking and never gets buzzy no matter how hard you try to make it go
out of control. It is always ready to go at first breath and with a
nice smooth tone- great for clarinte quartets.
