An orchestra of clarinets? Does the term orchestra also mean an
ensemble of only 1 family of instruments?
I've heard of a duet, trio, clarinet choirs, etc. but never an orchestra
of clarinets. I imagine this collection of players could end up being
an absolute horror of sounds, considering the tone mismatches and
intonation problems that could occur. Where would you ever find enough
good players in the same place at the same time to pull off a
performance?
What do others think.
