Subj: [kl] A clarinet: stuffy c/g
Date: Wed, 1 Sep 1999 14:40:35 -0400

A while back I wrote in asking for an a clarinet for a youth orchestra. Well,
I made some calls and found out that the orchestra owns their own R-13! Wasnt
I excited to hear that. Well, when I got home and played it the c/g of the
left hand, middle C and g on top of the staff are very stuffy. This confuses
me, and scares me because all of the notes around it are pretty good but its
just that specific fingering that is stuffy, and there are no pads or
anything associated with this note, or at least not really directly, You just
cover a tone hole. I am by no means a repair man of any sorts, but I am
afraid now that this means something is wrong with the size of the tone hole,
and I would think that to get that fixed it is costly and time consuming.
Could someone give me some help with this one.
Thanlks
Andy Brown
