Did you try playing her clarinet to make sure that it was repaired properly?

As far as practicing the break: It help to give the students simple songs
which they know by ear.

Write out Yankee Doodle, This Old Man, Happy Birthday, I've Been Working on
the Railroad, etc. I find this helps a lot because the student can hear what
note might be next. This eliminate the obstacle "I don't know how this note
is supposed to sound utilize the keys that will make them go over the break.

As a preparatory, give her a simple song which uses the notes F, E, D, C, B
with the register key. Have her play the notes in whole notes to work her
way down also, all with the register key, F, E, D, C, B. You get the idea?
Then mix up the notes.

There are many, many possibilities. Let your creative juices flow.

This works 99 percent of the time.

Good Luck,
Georgette
