My 2 year old R-13 Greenline has the same problems, especially
on the throat Ab key. The plating on the key rings is beginning to go, too.
And like Benjamin, I own a very old student model Excella (circa 1950?), and
the plating still looks brand new. The problem has to be with whatever plating
technique Buffet is using. Personally, I'm disappointed that such an otherwise
high quality instrument has such obviously shoddy workmanship in the plating.
