I have worked on many Artley clarinets. I find them to be very poor in
tuning. The top joint plays throat tones incredibly sharp. To get the G, G#
and A down to pitch, the corresponding keys must be shut down to the point
that these notes become totally muffled and unresponsive. The C#/G# is also
unfixably sharp. It also seems that the bottom joint was designed by a
totally different team of workers, people maybe in the same solar system,
but definitely on a different planet.

I would hope that all owners of Artley clarinets would bury them in their
back yards in unmarked graves, thus sparing future clarinet players the
agony of such an insufferable start on the clarinet.
