Denise,

A couple of years ago, I bought a 1950 Selmer Paris BT from a junk shop, and
it had a 2RV with it. The clarinet had not been used for a long time and so
I guess that the mouthpiece was bought in the 1950s or 60s. I had been
playing a B45 for some year, but found the 2RV to be nicer. It plays very
well indeed on my R13 and the old (now restored) Selmer BT. I used a #3
(Rico Grand Concert) with the B45 but found the 2RV let me move up to #3.5.
Personally, I love using mine.

Others on the Klarinet list have told me that the 2RV is almost identical to
the 5RV in specification. Tell your friend to treat it lovingly or, better
still, send it to me for a spare!

A friend of mine recently bought a new clarinet and
with that came a mouthpiece. It looks used, and kind
of old, but I could read that it said "Vandoren" on it
and also "2RV." But I, and a couple of other people I
asked, have never heard of a 2RV Vandoren mouthpiece.
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this model
and if it is a good mouthpiece. Thanks!
