I have just spent the most amazing afternoon! Francois Kloc, woodwind
specialist from Buffet, was at Griggs Music in Davenport, Iowa discussing
recent developments in woodwind research, design, and materials, assisting
with tryouts of various Buffet instruments, AND doing adjustments on
professional horns AT NO CHARGE. He adjusted the pinky keys on my Bb and
replaced a couple of pads, greatly improving the feel and response of the
horn, and replaced the barrel on my A, which now plays like a completely
different (and much better!) instrument. Others on this list have sung
Francois' praises before, and I am pleased to add my voice to theirs. Thank
you, Mr. Kloc, for the time you so graciously spent on my instruments - you
are truly an artist and craftsman. All you Buffet players out there, if this
man ever comes to your area, no excuses, BE THERE! You'll learn a lot.
