They work very well on the Buffet clarinets. I suppose now you will
ask why I don't play the Buffet clarinets with them? The reason I got the
Patricola line is because they are lighter in weight and take a big load off
my thumb. I didn't like using a neckstrap. A secondary plus is that the
wood of the mouthpieces matches the wood of the clarinets and looks very
nice. These may not be good reasons to some, but I am happy with them.

really- that's interesting. how do you find the sound of your new clarinets
compared to the buffet? lighter? as good of projection and volume and
tone? same or just different? i do use a neckstrap myself. i almost
thought i was going to have to visit a doctor i had such excruciating pain
in my right hand by the thumb- finally i got a neck strap and i can play
and never hurt anymore- but, i understand you not realyl wanting to wear
one. i can't really play without one now.
