In the recording I have of the piece with Emma Johnson as the soloist, she
doesn't embellish upon what's on the page, which is why I wasn't sure if it
is appropriate. However, after having heard so much about spontaneous
improvisation in Mozart's concerto, I came to wonder if the same principle
should apply here with Weber?

i've seen recently a cadenza in the mozart- the ibert edition- it's really
funny. it becomes totally french-- i think just stick with the time
period and be conservative with embelishing.
