Sad but
true: some teachers will be turned off (and count it against you) if
you interpret the music in a fashion too far afield from their own
ideas about how it ought to sound.

i'm not sure if a cadenza is something that many people are dead set with an
idea about- it's not just the music, it's a cadenza, which is to be
embellished
