Recently, a salesman let me inspect the "very latest top model" Le Blanc Bb
clarinet. Its larger pads had large centre rivets like sax pads. He told me
that the shells were specially designed to grip the end of the rivet. Being
an engineer, I had a very close look at the metalwork on this instrument,
and it looked just fantastic! The price, however, was equally fantastic.

I wonder if anyone on the list knows anything about this new design
direction...
