Subj: [kl] Aging Clarinets?

A while back there was some traffic regarding clarinets being "blown
out".
Some of the references were that clarinets have a life and they do become
old and decrepit.

Before we go any further let me say that every one who was on his
subject did not agree to this assumption but a great many did.

I have just received my B Flat R13 back from Francis Kloc who did a
repad job and other items on my horn from a matched set I bought from
WWBW in 1986.

I never had any real complaints of the clarinet but some how felt I would
like him to take a look at the instrument. Mr Kloc did a fabulous job
and perhaps the horn is in better shape than ever, even though it has
been in hands of some very noteable and capable repair persons.

I must thank Mr. Kloc publicly for the extremely fine work he did on my
horn.

Old R13s never die.. they just blow away......

Thank you Mr. Kloc
