My best mouthpiece before the wood ones was a Vandoren M13 but that was
nearly two years ago. I've since sold that mouthpiece but I think it would
suffer in a comparison with my wood mouthpieces.

I use #3 reeds, usually Vandoren but sometimes other brands, most recently
Rigotti Gold. My clarinet is a Buffet R13 (cork pads on upper joint, regular
double skin pads on lower joint) and I like BG Revelation ligatures.

It is my understanding that the wood mouthpieces work better with the softer
reeds like the ones I use.
