I went to that students lesson tonight with that in mind.

She surprised me greatly, however.

It turns out that she is a perfectionist. In one week a complete turn
around. Her tonguing, the way she puts the clarinet in her mouth, how she
holds the clarinet in front of her, and she has also been working on her
ability to tap her foot while playing whole notes, half notes and quarter
notes!

Amazing! I was so impressed!

(I have been teaching for quite a while and have never encountered such a
student with so many things to overcome) I guess I panicked!

I did not want her to get discouraged and I was afraid I might have done
exactly that.

Thanks to all,
