Dear Eric,
The major author of both books is Timothy Galwey (sp?), a respected tennis
pro and teacher. The very best teachers do indeed make this book required
reading for their students. It certainly made me realize how I was
sabotaging myself not only in my clarinet playing, but in many other areas
of my life. I find that one of the hardest things to do with any student is
to help her/him to detach her/himself emotionally from her/his playing
(self 1 & 2). But I find they do receive constructive critique much better
when they are detached enough to receive it in the proper spirit.
Sincerely,
Patty Smith
