A friend who is not a clarinetist just gave me a Clark Fobes Debut
mouthpiece. I was very excited. The Noblet mpc I was using was quite
serviceable but I wanted to play one designed more professionally. Well,
using the same reed and my stock ligature, I tried to play the mpc. It
was hard to blow and kept squeaking and chirping. I changed to the
Noblet (same reed and ligature) and it played fine. I'd really like to
know why. I thought the Debut would be easier to play since it is a
beginner model. I also had a similar problem with the Hite Premier my
daughter played. Most of these problems may stem from the addition of a
removable dental plate to my mouth. I had to relearn how to blow to keep
air from getting under the plate. Anyhow, is there something inexpensive
I could try to get this mpc working for me?
Thanks,
Paulette
