Subject: [kl] Audience Distractions - A Response

How to reply?
One can only stand, applaud and call BRAVO, BRAVO - ENCORE, ENCORE...
Although I can relate an experience that makes all noises infinitely
preferable - a little 6 or 7 year old boy sitting in the front row, right in
front of me - obviously enjoying the efforts of the solo cellist. Hero
worship I can handle - BUT - did he have to wave his brilliant snow-white
programme out of time to my playing? No matter where I looked in the
audience the programme continued it's hellish march to a different
conductor - even closing my eyes couldn't remove the subconcious worry that
this might be a budding Mozart and that I was the one who was wrong. I
often relive that experience and wonder who he was and what happened to him.
Long live live listeners. - edi
