Thank you, I think. But it appears that no one on the klarinet list has
heard of this thing. My post was about three days after the original
message and there had not been any responses. I just did an internet
search and didn't find a thing.

If someone comes back from France and says something like "I found the
most wonderful clarinet that a lot of pros are playing" that is one thing
(and I have heard that before about a brand whose name eludes me that is
virtually unknown in the US) . But in this case the source was a
student's parents.

You don't try to sell quality instruments by sneaking them on to the
market. How many years is the Bay clarinet away from the market? I don't
know any details but I have heard of it.

To Gary, I apologize for using such strong words. Without putting words
in your mouth, a second reading suggests than because you haven't heard
of it, you think it might be something to be suspicious about. I haven't
either, so I would tend be skeptical myself until knowing something. One
never knows when something quite grand will pop onto the scene, but
there is a lot of strange stuff out there. Actually, there always has
been.

Bill and Cindy's comments are the kind of discussion that needs to be
going on. Hopefully, we will all know something about Dawson clarinets
soon.
