Vandoren Tips

In the latest Vandoren Brochure, there are some tips for clarinet
players.

1) Try not to play continuously on a hard reed or a soft reed. This
might limit your "feel" for the capabilties of the mouthpiece you have
chosen.

2) Play new reeds for a few minutes a day to "break" them in.

3) Try not to get used to one "good" reed. Such a reed gets
progressively weaker. Consequently your embouchure muscles will get
weaker also.
A new reed might then seem too hard, although it may be the same
strength of reed you have just played.

4) In a resonant, dry air-conditioned place use softer reeds.

5) Outdoors or in a damp place, use slightly harder reeds.
