"Worthless" might be a bit strong. As I see it, a Dawson clarinet is
probably one of two things: a brand new, very limited production
instrument that has not generated any word-of-mouth yet; or a cheap
imported horn with the name of the local music store, importer, or whatever
stamped on it. If it is the former, it may be WONDERFUL, but information
is needed, which is why the original question came up. With the group
knowledge on this list, if NONE of us have heard of it, and many have DEEP
and continuous knowledge of the clarinet business, it would be wise to
proceed with EXTREME caution. If it is the latter, then it is a 99+%
probability that it is junk. Sticking with known brands may not get you
the absolute BEST product, but it nearly always lets you escape the WORST ones.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
