If you know where to put them, you will get a good recording. I prefer to
record in stereo with at least a pair of microphones. Your question says
nothing, I am afraid. You say you like your sound, but you don't know if it
is possible to get a good recording...

A good place to start is up about 6-7 feet and out about 6 feet from the
performers. I like a stereo X-Y pair (90-degree angle, capsules right over
each other) or an ORTF, near-coincident pair (110-degrees, 7 inches apart).
It depends on the room and the forces involved.
