Good point. But as I remember, the problem was one of placement of short
fingerings (like throat tones and B & C above the staff) far too low. In
other words, the problem was that too much material had already been removed
from the baffle. Do you remember Elmer Aiello's chamber guages? He dropped
one into that mouthpiece at one of the Denver clarinet conferences and it
sank way down in, far beyond any other mouthpiece that he or I had at the
time.
Share your experience with me as I'm curious--I've never found anyone who
could bring a mouthpiece back from that kind of problem when it's severe.
I'd be grateful to learn anything you have to teach me about that. And
