This is very helpful information. Which operating system
was being used. If it was Windows 95 or 98 part of the problem
can be it's method of multitasking. If is was NT or a UNIX base OS
than it sounds as if it is totally related to the sound card.

My local store is trying to push a sound card on me, but
I have fears of investing that much money for the very
reason that you stated. In other words "Timing is everything" in the
computer world..

The benefit of using a computer is the fact that you don't
have to worry about "wow & flutter" which can be induced by
a mechanical device. I don't think that is a great issue with DAT or
Digital Disks. But you do have to be concerned about other problems
such as multirtasking and memory handling, Thanks for the info, this
helps. The last thing I want to do is make something more complicated
than necessary just to have a decent demo.
