Dear All clarineters!

First, in the process of looking for a job, to pay bills, until the Band
takes off, I wrote my resume. To jazz it up, I put a section at the end
that I play and teach clarinet. Well, the company called me the day
after I e-mailed it to them, and had me fax it to the director at his
home( he was home with the flu) ! We scheduled an interview for this
week! He was very excited and impressed with my resume, it turns out
that he is also a clarinet player!!! Not only (hopefully) will I get a
job, but also a duet partner!

On another subject: There was a while back when we were discussing
different ways to spell embrosure, that there was a comment about how
to get a low Eb, contributed by Tony Pay. Well, friends, it works! The
lips have to be very loose, and you lie the whole tongue on top of the
reed. The net effect is that it looks like a baby who is sucking on the
bottle. And you get a low Eb. Tounging the note is a trick, you do it
with the part of the tongue that is at the top of the reed. I can only
get legato tounging for now, but maybe with practise I can get it to
staccato.

The question is: Does anyone know any other techinques that can get
cool effects and notes like this?

Thanks,

Rachael Orbach
