Last weekend, while I was quietly reading, my 17 year old daughter (a =
bass
clarinetist) came into the room and started to play "f=FCr Elise" on =
the
piano.
Not remarkable? Well I damned near fell out of my chair! She recently
inherited the piano when my mother passed away, but had never played =
one
before. She decided a piano wasn't much good if no one played it, so =
she
decided to teach herself. That kid never ceases to amaze me.

Sometimes our kids surprise us. It's great.
