Ow! That'd be harder than having a moderated list! The areas overlap so
much, and interests are so diverse ...
This has been attempted on a few lists, the latest one being the php3
mailing list. That one has about 200-300 messages a day, so a person
excerpted and re-posted the "highlights" of the day with a special title.
Great idea.
Lasted 1 week.
On that list I read the postings by 4 or 5 people (the people that wrote the
language) and then sort the titles and read the _last_ posting in any thread
that looks interesting to see if I should delve further or answer the post.
I can get through the 2 or 3 hundred messages in 10 minutes that way.
