Sometimes when I see this (esp. in foreign countries), I wish I could
speak english so well that they won't recognise me as german :-)

That's "deutsche Gründlichkeit" :-)
I personally go with Murphy's law: "What can go wrong, will go wrong",
and if this happens during rehearsals, nothing can be better.
