'Esser' is a brand of reeds produced by Gebhardt Steuer (AFAIK in
Lindau, Bodensee, Germany )

They produce mostly german-style reeds. #5 is really hard stuff,
presumably blanks (not sure, if this strength exists) ;-)

I play them myself (#3) which is about Vandoren #2 1/2

BTW: Perhaps someone has to post the right spelling of 'the thing we
do with our mouth on the mouthpiece to produce music'. If this list of
misspelling goes on longer, I will be totally confused <bg>
