Okay, I was offered a spot in the Crossmen after my two years with the Crusaders. Instead, I took an archaeology position in Israel. There, I also got to perform the Mozart Concerto. What could the Crossmen have taught me that's more valuable than giving a public performance of a staple in the classical repertoire? Also, the job and the traveling gave me a better perspective in the world and I looked at my love for the marching activity in a much different light. Before then, my goal was to march with the Cadets or Star of Indiana. Now, the sky's the limits as for my current aspirations. I won't even limit myself. Even the notion of being Drucker's successor - however unlikely that may be is still limiting. I'm sorry if all this criticism hits too close to home - I probably would have reacted the same way 5 years ago. But do try to keep your mind open, and take everything with a grain of salt.
