I'm afraid it is not my job to do that - it is their job! That's what
being a parent is. I certainly hope I'm not alone in expecting parents to
teach their kids these things?

The really good band/music teacher doesn't have to resort to something as
simple as standing still and quiet - a military approach. The truely
excellent music/band teacher can teach all of those things within a
beautifully planned and executed lesson. The worse the teacher, the more
they have to lean on the marching band. In my opinion of course.
