Although we praticed marching more than once a week, what you're talking
about here is the very reason I got in trouble!!! Obviously, I had the same
thought on the subject as you do!

It's because they keep changing a very complex show - week after week (why
not just go up, and down the field, and play some nice music??). No doubt
it is hard work, but is it worth it? Lots, and lots of time, and energy
spent that could be doing something that will benefit their musicality. (my
last post on this, don't want to perpetuate it more).
