Shelly, I am certain that your experience and your friend's experience
were excellent. I think the bashing you are seeing comes from people who
are aware of marching programs that not only inhibit musical learning and
development, the programs are represented as musical teaching and
learning. While there are many plusses to MB, and while there are many
elements of musical learning in a good MB program, by itself, MB is a poor
way to teach musically.
