I feel fortunate.....my father was a professional horn player in the
Oregon Symphony, and my mother a professional singer. Both taught public
school band and choir respectively.

Can't say enough for good music in the home and parents who work to
develop your musicianship as a lifelong skill - not necessarily as an
avocation.
