I *really* appreciate your comment about parents who are musicians. I've
forwarded your message--verbatim--to my daughter. Seeing is believing!

She's in band camp this week and next. It's a day camp only. The students
attend from 8:00 to 4:00 unless you're a member of the leadership corps (she
is), in which case you begin your day at 7:30. Marching practice takes place
in the morning, with sectionals and full band rehearsals indoors after lunch.

I can't resist the opportunity to brag a little. As a freshman, she sat
second chair to a senior last year, and will be solo clarinetist in the wind
ensemble this year unless there's some really precocious incoming student we
don't know about. Also, she performed the Messager/Bonade Solo de Concours
at district solo ensemble festival last year, earning a superior rating.

OK--time for me to back off now and leave this forum to other proud parents.

Thanks again,

Jim
