Dear Ed,

This is terribly sad. When I hear stories like this, I wish we could simply
outlaw marching band. And not only because I never could march without
looking like an idiot. I am almost glad my oldest daughter, with all the
native talent she has, wants to play basketball and electric bass and simply
bypass the whole band scene altogether. I pray there is some solution in
sight.
