I love these stories! (And given my recent interest in learning to do simple
repairs, I'm afraid I'll feature in one of them, one of these days....)
Sounds to me like you all need the type of sign I hung in my stained glass
studio, where I had to try to undo a lot of amateur repair work. Among other
things, I removed bubblegum that some knucklehead had carefully squeezed down
into the longest strip of lead channel along the bottom of a glass mosaic
window, to stop up a leak. He had sealed a 3-foot section of window this way
and it all had to come out. (Rubber gloves. Benzene. Awl and dental picks.
Respirator.) My sign:

REPAIRS
$25 per hour
$50 if you watch
$60 if you help
$80 if you worked on it first
