You should of course do whatever works for you, and I'm glad you've
found an alternative, which I've snipped.

However, I once spent a lot of time watching good cellists change
position, and I came to the conclusion that their hand movements are
very fast, but within an overall slower arm movement. This was a very
significant help in finding out how to use the basset keys when I
started to play the Mozart Concerto on the period basset clarinet.

So I have a question for you.

What happens if you let your right hand move slower, but include the
trill keys push as part of the movement to the F#?
