For everyone's benefit, I ended up buying a Yani S900. It is the straight
neck. I found one that played better than the S990's that I tried that
came with both curved and straight necks, not to mention that it was not as
expensive. I tried several models including the Selmer Series III, the
Yamaha YSS675 and YSS475, and many used instruments. I got a great deal at
a local retail music store in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, great service
included. The price was "better" than mail order. Thanks for all the
advice that I got both on and off the list.
