The differential in price between mail order & local is about a 100% markup,
at least in my area of the USA. I've ordered a number of clarinets for
friends & students in the area. Very few so far have needed attention.

Huh? I just stated it wasn't necessary, since you brought cork pads up.

Yes, it is. All I said (please read again) that it is not necessary. People
may have misconstrued your statement that changing the pads to cork was a
necessity.

_Every_ person who buys a Buffet has access to Francois or one of the other
techs at Buffet. That's their (somewhat new) policy.

or festivals ...

The "you" wasn't in reference to Mark Weinstein, it was in reference to
whoever pays 1095 for a B-12. I was unclear there. $1095 would buy close to
3 B-12s at $385 each.

Oh, grow up. No attack, no flames, no nothing. My experiences, contrasted to
