It depends, of course, whether you're doing "classical" or jazz. Many
experienced jazz and studio players recommend a Meyer 5M for the *alto* as
an excellent "middle of the road" mouthpiece for most non-classical work.
[I've used one exclusively for both big band and jazz...with complete
satisfaction.]

I can't comment on "classical" mouthpieces...sorry! FSS
