Of course, there are at least as many choices of sax mouthpieces as there
are for clarinet. Your clarinet mouthpiece (I think you meant C85 120) is
fairly open, which may be why the S80 C* is not working. On the other
hand, the Lakey 6*3 may be TOO open! You might try a Selmer C** or D (same
design as C*, but more open) on the soprano. I like the Otto Link for jazz
alto (I use an old Soloist-style C* for classical/band work). Mine is a
5*, a little more open than the C*, but you might want to try a 6 or 6* or
even 7, which would still not be as open as your Lakey.
P.S.: Please insert here all standard disclaimers about how your mileage
may vary, etc., etc., and note that, out of the 600 or so members of the
list, we should be able to come up with about that many different
suggestions, some of which might even work for you! I just got there first!
