I have arthritis and when I was trying saxes I was so impressed with the
Yani. After trying everything that Washington Music Center had, I bought
the Yani. I have just bought a C clarinet and the next thing I am after is
a curved soprano sax. I have tried the Yani and Yamaha and Selmer. The
Yani saxes are light in weight and have a very light action. The placement
of the keys feels very good under my fingers. The price is very
competetive. The only negative thing I can say about mine is that the
lacquer job is not first rate. I have a 990 model alto, which is supposed
to be their top model. Because of the weight and sluggish action of the
other saxes that I tried, and the fact that I have rheumatoid arthritis, I
thought my sax-playing days were over. The Yani sax has afforded me the
opportunity to continue playing the sax. Try the Yani and compare it to the
others. I think you will be surprised with the ease of response. The price
was great - I payed $1300 for mine in 1996. Have fun and good luck with
your search.
