Hi, Andy. I have never heard of retailer's having old reeds, except for ones
that you probably wouldn't want ... high quality reeds would probably be a
function of a serious clarinetist stockpiling them and then, later, when
knowing they won't be put to use for one reason or another .. they sell
them. I have seen older stock of Rico reeds from time-to-time, but this was
out of music stores which were liquidating their inventory ... and even then
the # grades of reeds would be sporadic at best.

Question to Roger:

I have heard a great deal about the OLD Oliveiri Stock. My teacher, Patricia
Card, has spoken very favorably about the quality of these reeds for what
must have been a time that was 15+ years ago. Curious as to where the older
Oliveiri (sp.) came from.
