David Weber for many who don't know was a top clarinetist around New York in
the 40's on. He held many major NYC gigs. Most recently, until the mid
1980's was with the NYC ballet. He also taught a lot, was on the faculty of
Juilliard. He was teacher to many prominent players, some of the younger
guys who worked with him include Jon Manasse, Todd Levy, Dan Gilbert among
others. He is still living on the upper west side, continues to teach and I
believe is now in his 80's although you would never know it. Some of the
older guys around often say that he was reputed to have one of the best
sounds around.

If you hear his Poulenc, you may note that he played it from the earliest
editions and some of the notes have been corrected since that time. This
should be a great disc, some of the selections are legendary.
