Would those who have experimented with or who presently use any of the
various "improvments" to the standard clarinet thumb rest which are
available currently please comment on your experience?

I have not tried any, but I am intrigued by the idea of reducing right hand
stress and its affect on technique and stamina. I am a Buffet player so I
am aware of the adjustable thumb rest which they offer. I have seen the
Kooiman thumb rest in the WW/BW catalog (pg 107) and Peter Spriggs (The
Clarinet Center, B.C. <www3.bc.sympatico.ca/clarinet>) has devised and
interesting looking one.

Please, if anyone on the list uses or has tried any of these, or others,
please share your views.

Thank you,
Richard Tremper
