I'm sure this is old hat to you vets out there, but maybe someone coming up
through the ranks hasn't seen this one:

Get two lead weights, the fishing kind with swivel eyelets for attaching fish
line. Tie the weights to each end of an appropriate length of fish line (the
width of the stand plus about two feet). Clip clothes pins on each side of the
music stand and string the string over them. The clear, monophiliment line will
hold the music in place, doesn't block the view and the pages can be quickly
turned. When pages are turned, the weights just ride up as the fish line is
pulled away from the music.
