Our school recently purchased Sound Forge 4.5 and I have had a wonderful
time editing electronically. I have a problem that I would like to pose to
any qualified person who may be able to help......

When I am copying and or editing material that is on the hard drive,
occassionally electronic burps, similar to a speaker wire that has a small
short and is moved during playback, occurs. I re-record to the hard drive
with a clean copy, re-edit the material, and the "burp" occurs somewhere
else - quite randomly.

Questions:

1. Can this be caused by the cheap surge protector I am using?
2. Can this be caused by the computer being hooked up to the server (but no
programs actually in use) via hard wire?
3. Does anyone on the list have any experience with this very cool editing
software?

Thanks in advance.
