Dear Ken and all,
I actually enjoy the direction of this thread. I too find Ornette Coleman
unlistenable - and that even when teamed up with Pat Metheny, who I consider
a master of improvidsed melody.
Sometimes I wonder if everone simply wants to be Bird or Coltrane - and a
lot of them don't develop their own individual sound as a result.
Just some musings. I really have learned a lot from these "sax trouble"
posts.
