The first Sax I ever played was a plastic alto lent to me by a frinnd who
had a rock/ band. I have no idea of the brand (he said a relative
of his has bought it in the 50's) but was in shocking condition. I remember
not being overly impressed at the time.

Just on a different note, I had a lesson yesterday with Valentine Sacarov
(not real sure of the spelling). He is the teacher of my teacher. He has
been principle clarinet with Paris Opera; Bolshoi Ballet; And most recently
Strasburg Philharmonic. WOW. What a wonderful teacher. Unfortunatly due to
time constraints he wasn't able to play for me. Still, it was a wonderful
experience. Valentine is in Australia at the moment promoting Buffet
Greenline Instruments. According to my teacher, the instruments Valentine
had with him were wonderful (Buffet R13 Prestige Greenline).

Still I had a wonderful time.

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July celebrations.

All the best,
Rod
